I, the wizard Griffyd..." Exotica gasped at this point. Griffyd had been a famous wizard, the court mage to one of King Emry's predecessors as ruler of Allaria, but he had died over three hundred years ago.

Exotica resumed reading: "I, the wizard Griffyd, have seen you visit this place, using my scrying pool. You carry the blood of the royal line of Allaria in your veins, together with a latent magical ability that you may not even be aware of. That combination uniquely fits you to perform a great task...

  1. "It is no coincidence that the statue shows you as an angel, as you will have to take on the forces of Hell itself."
  2. "But first you must read aloud the magical spell that I have writen below, which will give you the wings which you will need."
  3. "Before reading the remainder of this message, take the water pitcher from the statue of the angel and drink from it."
