The Solicitous Husband-To-Be

Fred noticed her lack of enthusiasm. "You are only picking at your food, dearest," he remarked.

"I'm sorry, but I don't seem to have much of an appetite."

"But it's important that you should keep your strength up. Besides, a full stomach means a contented person. I'll help you."

"Thank you, but that's really not necessary."

But Fred wasn't listening. Astra suddenly realised that she was ravenously hungry, indeed even more so than she had been earlier. Furthermore the food on her plate smelt marvellous, and she found when she took a bite that it tasted delicious as well. She couldn't help herself, and started wolfing it down. This was by far the best meal that she had ever had!

1. The hunger remained for as long as there was food on her plate, but abruptly ceased once she had cleared it. She realised what had happened. Oh Goddess! If he can manipulate me like that, she thought, then he can make me do almost anything.
2. Once her plate was empty, she refilled it and carried on eating. Everyone else had finished breakfast by now and left, leaving only herself and Fred, who did nothing to stop her. Perhaps he liked his women plump, or felt she'd be less trouble that way.
3. As she finished eating, Fred told her that the marriage would occur right after breakfast. Astra felt full and rather sleepy, and found that this made it hard for her to think. But she did manage to ask if she would have to remain nude for the ceremony.
