Magic Rather Than Science

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 96619

The woman had lost consciousness, or she might have been startled to see the still naked Exotica emerge from behind the curtain. Exotica wondered if the woman was an elf. After all, she had pointed ears. But unless she had dyed her hair, that was impossible. Elves always had dark hair.

But Exotica could spare no more time to think about that, as the woman was clearly in a bad way. All the advanced medical facilities wouldn't help her since, apart from bandages (which were the only items that were familiar), she had no idea what anything did. So she would have to resort to magic. The basic healing spells were the first that a trainee magic user learnt, but Exotica had never had to cast one for real before. The first priority was to try to stem the bleeding. Then she could try to heal the dislocation and/or fracture. (She wasn't yet sure which it was.) She wouldn't try to move her from the floor first; she probably wan't strong enough to lift her and in any case it would risk making her injury worse.

  1. She manages to stop the bleeding, and then gently washes away the blood from the arm using a damp cloth, so that she can more clearly see just what the underlying injury is.
  2. She fails to stop the bleeding.
