"Hello," the rotund guard said on seeing Fred and Exotica. "Who are you?"
Fortunately he didn't appear to be all that suspicious of them.
Fred thought quickly. Perhaps he could take advantage of how Exotica was dressed. "She's here to clean the station," he said. "I'm guarding her." "Why does she need a guard?" the lanky guard wanted to know. "She's one of the dragon's prisoners, but he thought that he might as well have her doing something useful."
