A Strange Scent

Astra had followed the scent of the man with just one thought on her mind.
However when
she had got close enough to recognise who it was, his identity had been
enough of a surprise
to clear some of the lust that had been clouding her thinking. She felt
somehow that to
seduce Fred would be a betrayal of their friendship.
As Astra mentally struggled with herself, Fred edged toward her. Eventually she realised that something was wrong. Why did he have his sword in his hand? And why was there a look of fear upon his face? Only at the last moment did she realise that he did not recognise her and intended to attack. She had already discovered that she could not speak; the only noises she could make were those of a vixen. So she took the only course open to her. She turned and ran off into the forest. Later she returned to where she had met Fred, and followed his scent. Mingled with Fred's scent, there was another smell that was new to her, but there was something about it that made the fur rise on the back of her neck. Nevertheless, she followed the trail, and around midnight came within sight of Alicia D'Veres' shack. It was obvious that this was where Fred had come. Whose shack was it? Astra considered going boldly up to the door and knocking, but that seemed unwise. Instead she settled herself in a place of concealment from where she could watch the shack, and waited. What she would do when Fred eventually emerged, she had no idea. She was still uncomfortably aware of her "yiffiness", like an itch that she could not scratch. I hope a dogfox doesn't come near, she thought, for I should probably forget all about Fred, and I have the feeling that he's in serious trouble. I wish I knew how long I will feel like this.
