Yet another distraction?

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 96270

"I can then think of only one other likely suspect to who owns that mystery TARDIS: Omega," Rei Quatermain (maiden name Ayanami) sighed, looking like a fine and grand headacche was in the works for her here. Too many inconsistencies had been showing up until now and were pointing to yet another super villian from Whovian lore. "He followed the Doctor here to see what had waylaid him since he has an agenda with the Timelord after all."

Where had all that needed power come from for those directed energy weapons? Weapons that had needed the entire output of a nation to fire strong enough to penetrate an eldritch abomination some goth types had the nerve to name an alien invader species Angels, Rei was willing to bet good money that a LOT of religious types out there were going to be screaming bloody blue murder when they learned of THAT.

How about that annoying tendency for theme appropriate (mostly) music for every occasion that keeps blasting through any form of radio communication directed at Tokyo 3, whether it was pure vox or vox combined with video? Oh, the source of the music lay somewhere within the electronic bowels of the Magi super computer--the very HEART and SOUL of that super city (of the *snirk* future) and the computer network had been "programmed" by the very woman who had strangled the life out the first incarnation of poor sister Yukido for an ill advised (innocent) statement and as such one should expect some kind of canards thrown their way. The blasted thing had the personality imprint of that murderous, vengeful woman so it just goes without saying! But frankly the computer technicians should have tracked down and fixed that problem by now but had failed, despite the vast network the Magi was plugged into: everything from traffic control to the very office of city hall (with human beings merely being there as figureheads).

At least Katsuragi had the good grace to look horrified at hearing about Yukido, Rei thought rather angrily to herself. Stupid cow never once bothered to ever ask just why little sis lived in squalor despite being under the Commander’s care. At least my version of her had given a tinker’s damn . . .

Frankly, Rei thought Colonel Katsuragi rather deserved the beating she’d gotten at the hands of Setsuna during her "mad goddess" episode. She rather was anti against people in power taking advantage of her young sister’s situation, much less just ignoring it out of hand.

Hrmmph, anyway . . .

Finally, there had been all those dimensional breaches which lead to various different Evangelion worlds, something that the Rules and Agents had used to safely dump Evangelion technology (and whatever other dangerous Dead Sea Scroll/Evangelion related items) here. Yes, those Celestrial entities could have just easily done it straight away with their own powers but . . . this was more their style.

"But why would Omega go and follow the Doctor here ?" the Master begins over the coms. "Granted, according to what you and Betty tell of him he is rather . . .desperate and understandably so but still! Come here in person when he could easily just send out more of his drone creatures or whatnot to spy upon the situation? It would not make sense, surely to do it that way than to just jump right in blind."

"If the same Random Omnipotent Being (ROB) did with him as what it might have done with you?" Rei simply asked in a rye tone of voice, causing the Dark Timelord to begin to look . . .concerned. "They’d do it in a heartbeat JUST to make this Quest difficult. Believe it!"

"And who in the hell is this Omega guy and why would he be a worry here?" Colonel Katsuragi asked, clearly not up upon Whovian lore, a lack that was quickly remedied by various people in Rei’s group and even a bit by General Hummel.

. . .

Somewhere along the line he had one of his aids from Stargate Command wrestle up some information on some of the more villainous folk running with Rei’s group. In the course of things the General (after muttering about not believing he was actually DOING this), also happened to at least touch on some of the other villains from Doctor Who, if only to understand the background from which the Master haled from here. Omega had been mentioned, if only a blurb or three, in some of the encounters the Master’s adversary the Doctor had to deal with throughout the series.

Well . . .they would have given Katsuragi a briefing IF a certain someone had not interrupted by breaking into the video conference . . .

"What the Hell?" Hummel and Katsuragi blink, seeing a rather familiar (but utterly naked) young teenage girl looking at them, an odd helmet held listlessly in one hand.

She looks rather . . .stressed. Perhaps a bit shell shocked?

"So . . .I take it that you got too close to my sister’s Rei- aquarium?" Rei asked what she is guessing to be a Galifreyian legend who’d survived getting sucked into an antimatter universe, only to survive to this day by sheer willpower alone.

Sheer willpower sustaining an empty suit of armor which had failed to prevent the dissolution of it’s owner’s body over the centuries by it’s antimatter surroundings….

Who apparently, at a guess, been working his (her?) magic behind the scenes, trying to stabilize the VLA incident before it would/could blow sky high? That would have explained so much to Rei all the irregularities!

Who’s mind got apparently, at a guess, sucked into one of Yukido’s empty "spare bodies" . . .

  1. "Who is responsible for this?" the young girl with blue hair (and no clothing) growls.
