The ruler of the dragon's lackeys

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 9569

Fred gets several swords at his throat. Over the edges he can see the back of a high, thin throne. It is made of marble and overlaid with exquisetly detailed thin gold patterns. A single red cushion provides all the support that Velus needs.
"Hi, Fred!" cries the small dog. "Isn't this great? All the dragon's lackeys serve me now!"
"Umm..."
"Oh, that's right. Boys, let him go."
Now that Fred wasn't distracted by the potential for sudden painful death, he saw that he was at the far end of a throne room. The red carpet streched on for a seeming mile, to end at large, oak doors. These were covered with the same fancy golden swirls as Velus's throne.
The red carpet was lined with marble columns that vanished in the darkness above. Every other column had a torch bolted to it. On the left side of the throne was mostly darkness. On the right were two story tall stained glass windows. It was night. The moon shone in through a pattern of warriors fighting some tentacled thing.
Besides the five gaurds there were a handful of advisors standing under one of the pillars. They had their hands full of papers and books and writing instruments. "Okay, Velus. Just how did you get to be ruler of the dragon's realm?"

  1. "I defeated him in a battle of wits."
  2. "I killed him. He was allergic to doggy dander."
  3. "I'm not telling."
  4. "My butt hurts."
  5. "I can't tell. He put a spell on me so I can't."
