"How can you tell?" Fred asked.

"Our rags are marginally less ragged. Also Exotica's belly isn't quite so distended."

"I'm sorry that my spell didn't work as intended," Exotica said. "I guess that using my toenails when only my baby is a virgin wasn't good enough."

"So what do we do now?" Sir Josh said.

"We could try to build a raft," Fred said.

"Or we could wait another three and a bit months until my baby is born, and then use his or her toenail clippings in the spell," Exotica suggested. "The toenail clippings are the only ingredient that is a problem."
