"Just fine," Astra said, trying to disguise her annoyance at Fred's intrusion.

She had sat up in bed, and Fred noticed that she was fully clothed. "What's all this?" he said. "Why are you wearing your clothes in bed? You're planning to escape the minute my back is turned, aren't you?"

"Of course not. I am being forced to share my bedchamber with Belboz, a man whom I met for the first time today. That's the reason."

1. "I suppose that's understandable."
2. "If you're worried about Belboz's intentions towards you, then I can have another cot moved in and set a reliable servant to keep an eye on him. That's not a bad idea, actually. Why did I assume that I could trust Belboz not to help you to escape?"
3. "I don't believe you. I know what I'll do: make all your clothes vanish. You could hardly escape if you were naked."
