"I've... er... come to tuck you in," Astra extemporised, remembering what Freida had told her. She would have to do that, then come back in an hour or so when Fred would hopefully be more soundly asleep. She briefly considered trying to find something to knock him out with instead, but quickly rejected the idea. That would get Exotica into the most terrible trouble, presumed guilty not only of assaulting the "king" but theft of the crown as well.

  1. "All right," Fred said. She tucked him in and left, wondering where she should go for the next hour where she wouldn't be noticed.
  2. Fred threw the blankets and linen off himself, and gestured for her to get into bed with him! She realised that he had misunderstood, and must presume that "tuck you in" was her euphemism for having sex.
  3. "But I was told that you were working in the dungeons now," he said, looking puzzled.
