"Well, I suppose that was one way of getting me out of my chains," Astra remarked. She blinked as her eyes adjusted to the much brighter light than she had recently been used to.

The three of them were no longer anywhere underground. They stood:

  1. In a town square, where the locals were looking at them with understandably bemused expressions.
  2. In an imposing room, currently empty except for themselves, with an ornate throne on a dais at one end of it.
  3. On a raft floating down a wide river. They hurridly sat down before it could overturn.
  4. On an open hillside. In the valley below them, a battle was raging.
