A Shock for Fred and Astra

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 93597

Fred was sitting at the head of the royal table, with Astra on his right and Reaibn on his left. Astra was on her second tankard of a rather good red wine, and starting to feel a little more relaxed as a result, when Reaibn said: "The three of us need to discuss your upcoming marriage."

Astra nearly choked on her wine. "What?! This is the first I've heard of it."

"Please don't be difficult," Reaibn said anxiously. "You know the sort of thing that's liable to happen to you if you are difficult. I'm afraid that there's no escaping it. Would ten o'clock tomorrow morning be all right for the ceremony? I can conjure up a lovely wedding gown for you."

"I suppose that at least we don't have to consummate the marriage," Fred said, a hint of regret in his voice.

  1. "No, that isn't necessary."
  2. "I'm afraid that the Dark Ones insist that you must, in front of me - and hence in front of them as well, though at least you won't be able to see them."
