Reaibn's Whip

"Never mind that," Astra said impatiently. "We must hurry before Reaibn's guards can catch up with us. Hopefully there will be an exit at the far side, as the walls are too thick to push through without getting torn to shreds."

But after five minutes of traversing the maze, taking turns to left and right at random, they found themselves back outside the scullery door. Fastened to the outside was a sign that had not been there before. It read: Do not pass Go. Do not Escape. Gain 10 pounds. And it was signed Reaibn!

"But you killed him!" Fred said.

"Apparently not. The bastard must be even more powerful than we realised. Hey, my gown feels tight all of a sudden!" [42184]

"So do my coronation robes." [42128]

"It must be Reaibn!" Astra realised. "He's done to us what the sign threatened. Well I'm not giving him best. Come on, we'll try another route through the maze."

But the new route still brought them back to the scullery door and its ominous sign. Once more they each gained ten pounds. The seams of their clothes were creaking ominously, and Astra's breasts were threatening to pop out of the top of her gown.

"If only I had a sword, I'd make short work of these thorn bushes," Astra said wistfully.

"You would think that a decent set of coronation robes would come with a sword, but these don't."

"I'm not giving up yet," Astra said. And with that she tugged the reluctant Fred back into the maze.

As they had feared, five minutes later they were back outside the scullery door, and they gained yet another ten pounds, taking Fred up to 180 pounds and Astra to 160. Their outer garments gave up the struggle and came apart, leaving them in their underclothes, which appeared to have been made out of a material with a great capacity for stretching.

"We're going to have to go back inside and throw ourselves on Reaibn's mercy," Fred said.

1. "I suppose so," Astra sighs. Walking back in through the scullery door, they find Reaibn waiting for them.
2. "Never!" By the time she finally concedes defeat, she weighs 200 pounds and Fred 220.
3. "Never!" Unexpectedly, this time they manage to escape from the maze. But their troubles are far from over.
