Roland looks to his right. Sarah stares out the window, her gun ready. The blue vehicle lurches through the city streets and though the woman warrior looked for zombies her knew she looked for her companion Jasper at every corner, at every body. She had cried when he insisted they leave the 'Hardee's' but she worked through her tears, loading the heavy ammo (thank the Turtle it fit his gun) with no complaint. The two new men, Shaun and Ed, slept fitfully in the back seat. They had insisted on staying awake but Roland knew the importance of sleep when one could get it. All it took was a flash of a bullet casing through his rolling fingers and they were gone. He knew they would awaken when needed. As for Josh? He had stolen a semi-truck and sped off. It was for the best. Now to drive on. Fortunately the roads opened up and ... the signs. The damnable signs. Why were they so bright green? There were two ways to get to the farms and the 'thinning' that might lead to a better realm. Well, a somewhat safer realm.
