On a mental health day, Ben McClellan, noted internet author and brownie enthusiast, is walking through a state park and taking in the sights of several people kayaking down a thin, swift river. Several fish pace the bright green boats. The sky darkens as clouds cover the noon-day sun. Suddenly, something bursts from the water. Wet, black, furry...Ben barely recognizes it as a female, humanoid skunk-woman before she screams and lands a punch squarely in his crotch. Through a universe of pain he recognizes words. Not the meaning, that would come much later. "Don't write about people and oral sex and me!" Felina screams. "Josh and me and forced sex! Gross!" Ben writhes on the ground and pukes a little. There is nothing but pain. When his mind returns ten minutes later he realizes the kayakers have called for help. Two overweight paramedics have determined he will fit to go in an hour but in the meantime they'd like him to stick around in the park's infirmary.
