He hopes that one of the women might hit her head on a protruding rock on the way down and knock herself unconscious, which would halve his problem. But that does not happen, and eventually they reach an almost level area and come to a halt, still wrestling.

Fred wonders how best to deal with the two women. They are proving to be a lot more trouble than he had anticipated, though obviously much less so than as a dragon and bear (or indeed sorceror). Perhaps he should try a different spell from the book on the pair of them to make them more amenable?

1. He rejects the idea. Though he was successful before, he knows that spellcasting can be dangerous for those without proper training.
2. He tries a spell which should make them obedient to him, and is successful.
3. He tries a spell, but it goes wrong.
4. Perhaps Fred has some strange, unacknowledged stuff in his subconscious? Whatever the reason, he somehow manages to transform himself into a beautiful female redhead. He is still wearing his armour, though it doesn't fit at all well now.
