The two starred at each other for a long while. "Well answer the question." Myrddin said after a long silence. "You still haven't answered mine!" Fred exclaimed. "What were you doing in that forest?"Myrddin's face turned red. "What I was doing in that forest is none of your business...but if you really must know I was searching for you! You've been missing for years, ever since you went off to slay the dragon! The King has sent warriors to all corners of the earth looking for you. I have been looking for you as well, and here you are! Fairy-Land isn't where I expected to find you! So I ask again, how did you end up here? " Fred eased up a bit as he began to feel he could trust Myrddin. He told the wizard of his short tale, and was amazed when he heard how much time had passed since he had left, and how much had changed. For the Kingdom was greatly weakened with the loss of Fred, not only loosing Fred himself but also the rest of the kingdom's most skilled warriors who had been sent out to find him. Many had died or never returned, and none had ever succeded in finding him. The Dragon continued to plague parts of the Kingdom, while invaders from Aqualaria and Hespan had began to attack the borders of the realm. The king was also very sickly and gone mad, he had announced his heir to the throne would be an old chicken bone. Things were not looking well!The sun was now setting on the horizon, and Myrddin led Fred through a hilly, rocky country. "Morlog Towne is where we are headed." He said as they strolled along through the moonless night.
