Pozzo has broken his left tibia in two places. He is taken to the player's clinic and treated by two doctors hired by trial staff. They pump him full of morphine and soon he is vastly interested in a poster of various birds by a window.

A confused old lady thinks this is the tax return office. She is injected with morphine. That is not right.
