Not only do you not recognize it, it's completely unrecognizable. The foliage is yellow in a way that normal foliage definitely ISN'T, and the leaves of the trees look like glossy, mirror-reflective satellite dishes, all of them facing the sun. At the focus of each "leaf" is a small matte-black bulb, apparently soaking up the sunlight. Something extremely fuzzy, huge-eyed and cute--save for the wicked claws and six limbs--is slowly clambering around in the nearest tree, happily munching on the odd-looking leaves, bulbs and fruit. It regards you with some curiosity, gibbers mindlessly at you and throws fruit in your general direction until you back away from its tree. You stand beside the road and look around. The nearby hills are covered with rocky outcrops and more of the yellow vegetation, interspersed with patches of blue and black ferny stuff. The road runs past you and up one of the hills, where you see buildings that look like vaguely like Turkish minarets in a cluster. A herd of animals that look like bizarrely mutated horses grazes peacefully in a pasture nearby. The day is warm but fairly pleasant. Shrugging, you decide to walk up to to the nearest building.
