The Child and the Orbs

Apart from the strange design of his clothing, the child seemed normal
enough. He looked as though he was about ten years old, though tall for
his age. The ten glowing, rolling orbs that were following him, as if he
was a shepherd and they were sheep, were anything but normal though.
Neither Fred nor Astra had ever seen the like. They were about three feet
in diameter, and they varied greatly in colour, some being shades of red,
others blue, others orange, others green, and one being pure white.
When the child leading the glowing balls had come within a few feet of the pyramid, a previously invisible door slid open. The child had not touched the pyramid, and there seemed no way in which anyone inside could see out, so Fred and Astra could not understand what had caused the door to open.
