Josh realised that, given the length of the film and the inclusion of
some
extras, he should have anticipated that there would be two DVDs rather
than one. Perhaps a little perversely, he chose to start by viewing an
interview with the producer cum director of the film. He was presumably
also the owner of Sir Toby Films, as he was only identified as "Sir Toby".
Josh was surprised to learn that the script of the film had been contributed to by a large number of different writers. A writer would typically write only a short section of the film - usually only one scene or sometimes only part of a scene - before handing over to another writer. Sometimes these two writers would alternate for a while, but sooner or later more writers would start making contributions. "That seems like a very random way of creating a story," the unnamed interviewer said. "I like to think that it enhances creativity," Sir Toby said. "Most of the time the writers don't discuss the story between themselves, so that what one writer comes up with can be a total surprise to the others. This can lead to the story taking off in all sorts of weird and wonderful directions. Admittedly it can sometimes make continuity a problem."
