Astra tried to remove the ring, but it seemed to be stuck fast. That
tended to happen with cursed rings, she knew, even though she had never
played Nethack. She was afraid that eventually, if the insistent
narration that she could hear in her head continued, she would be driven
insane. She contemplated amputating the finger. But quite apart from
being painful, she had no blade with which to do it.
But then, to her surprise, she heard the following in her mind: You
have been listening to Curse Option 1, the default. The remaining options
will now be briefly described. To select an option, simply tap the ring
with a finger of your other hand that number of times. This is a 'one
time only' offer. Once your choice has been made, you cannot subsequently
change it.
Astra decided:

To stick with Option 1, the voice that was narrating her life, since all the other options sounded even worse.

To choose the perpetual nudity curse. Since she was naked at the moment anyway, at least things would not be obviously any worse. And perhaps before too long she could find a wizard to undo it.

To choose the curse that would turn her skin a bright blue.

To choose the illiteracy curse. As a warrior princess, she didn't have that great a need to read and write.

To choose the curse that would leave her deaf and unable to speak.

To choose the "petite" curse that would leave her only 4'10" in height and her weight at 90 pounds.

To choose the "giantess" curse that would make her ten feet tall.

To choose the curse that would leave her permanently nine months pregnant.

To choose the curse that would give her a beard that would instantly regrow should she ever try to shave it off.
