Hannah shivered at the rather alarming message. Who was the "he" that it
referred to? Surely it couldn't be the kindly old man Belboz, who had
promised that he would look after her and had provided her with the cot
to sleep in? And yet, for all his seeming solicitude, somehow she didn't
quite trust him. She wished that she knew how she had come to his
chambers, but there seemed to be great gaps in her memory. Apart from
knowing that she was a simple peasant lass of fifteen named Hannah, she
didn't seem to be able to recall very much.

Putting her fears aside, Hannah settles down to sleep.

Hannah is startled when the door to the supply room is thrown open. In the door stands a tall, red-headed woman dressed as a warrior. "You don't need to be afraid any more," she says. "I've killed the necromancer."
