A Growing Religion

"It is time for the church of the Holy Monkey to expand out of this land," the Monkey elaborated. "I want your peoples to worship me as the god that I am. If you refuse to carry my message, then I will send two of my own courtiers, but it is more likely to be taken seriously if it comes from respected nationals such as yourselves. And it needs to be taken seriously, as if my church has not become the state religion within six months then I shall launch a crusade that will leave your countries as nothing more than depopulated wastelands."

"Your forces aren't strong enough to do that," Astra said.

"You think? My warriors are fanatically devoted to me. And they know that if they die in battle it will guarantee that they enter heaven. That makes each one of them worth two of your soldiers."

2. The power of that hypnotic voice meant that he convinced them both not only to deliver the message but to urge that it should be acted on.
3. "We won't deliver your message," Astra said. "Then you can be slaves instead."
4. "We won't deliver your message," Astra said. "Hey, speak for yourself," Fred said.
5. "We won't deliver your message," Astra said. "I see that you need more convincing. No one can resist my voice for long."
