"Come with me," the alien ordered. Seeing little alternative, Stacy and
Robert followed him (her? it?) up to the bridge or whatever it was. A
large circular viewscreen was visible on one wall, an image of one of the
first kind of aliens they had encountered visible on it. On of the enemy
aliens was speaking: "Ah, here they are now." His voice was smug. "As you
can see, they are unharmed... as of yet." He appeared to be talking to the
other alien on the viewscreen. "But since their well-being seems to be
important to you, here is what our arrangement shall be. We will turn one
of these humans over to you if you will permit us to leave. If you
continue to attack us, we will kill one of them. And we will kill
both of them rather than let you recapture them. Do you understand
me?" Stacy and Robert exchanged horrified glances. The alien on the viewscreen spoke:
