The Kiss of Cold Iron

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 8948

Aethir MacFionn repressed an inward shudder at the Huntsman's words as he stood there with Astra of Aquilaria. Though he only faintly recalled his imprisonment in the tree itself, he remembered enough of it not to want anyone to suffer as he had. Certainly, it had been pleasant enough at first, but as time went on, they subjected him to nightmare after hellish nightmare to try to break his spirit, each worse than the last as each one had failed. As he had freed the warrior woman, he could see by the wildly varying expressions on her face that she had been fighting much as he had, and he knew her spirit was as strong as his. There must be something more at play here. Astra was no good to them save the fact that she would last longer than Simon the Anchorite. The fae had to be getting edgy. "You're in no position to bargain, imp," the legendary warrior said, taking a bold step towards the Huntsman, "as I know you remember this knife. Do you feel the shiver brought on by Cold Iron? I can kill you with this, something few other blades can do..."

Lord Frederigo D'Honaire seemed to be content to see by the light of the sparse, eerily luminous moss, but the witchlight comforted Andrea. It was one of the first simple charms old Fritha had taught her, the simplest. Its warm, soft white light was easing to her nerves.

Frederigo was cursing under his breath, trying to find the signs which would let them find the dvergar who built these tunnels, so that they could lead them through them, escorting them to safety. However, any signs he found were much too old, and led in circles...

  1. Andrea tripped over something that rattled as she backed away from Frederigo. She looked down as her footsteps shattered an old yet oddly diminuitive human skeleton, perfectly preserved...
