The Other Guy

"Got summoned," Ernie shrugs. "Apparently by someone who doesn't remember my name."

Bill looks around at the others and finds them (and the author of the last chapter) staring blankly at the newcomer. "It's Ernie Hudson," he explains. "He played Winston."

"Yeah. So what's up? They're making another Ghostbusters?"

"Over my dead body," Bill grunts. "Or should I say, over my ghost."

Everyone laughs politely, even those who don't get the joke. Ernie looks around, finally aware of his surroundings, and asks nervously: "Where are we anyway?"

"Would you believe a featureless void between realities?"

"Well, as my character once said, if there's a steady paycheck in it I'll believe anything you say." He looks expectantly at the others in turn, but they all avert their glance.

"Oh come on! Does nobody have any money?"

1. Furry Sara shakes her tail and a handful of silver coins fall out. Speculation about what else she keeps in there.
2. Bill Murray shows off by writing a check for a googolplex dollars. It bounces before he even signs it.
3. Fred has two coppers and an Elfquest button.
