Here or There?

"Wait a minute," she said, as much to herself as to Velus. "Shouldn't there be an underground river very near by? My memory seems a bit hazy, but I definitely recall a river."

1. Velus barks to indicate that his keen canine ears can hear the rushing of the river, not too far away.
2. Velus barks to agree that, yes there should be a river, but it seems to have vanished. Astra fears that may be a sign that they have indeed passed through some portal.
3. A red-skinned demon with goat-like horns and carrying a pitchfork appears. He pokes the pitchfork at Astra and says "Move!" Yep, it's one of the dire dinensions all right.
