Fred put his now comparatively enormous arm around Astra, and did
something with his other arm that caused everything to be enveloped in yet
another white light. When it cleared, Astra found herself in a large
marble hall, with what appeared to be a rather large piece of furniture.
Astra looked around; Fred was nowhere to be seen. Just as Astra was about to call out, she heard a voice inside her head. "It's all right, Astra, I'm here" "Okay, he's here, but where?" she thought. "I'm here in this room, but I exist only as a voice. I cannot let Minestrus see me." "Why not?" "Because he might think I'm one of the 'Fred's from one of the alternate universes, and try to attack us. It would be a pitty for your new life to end so soon, don't you agree?" "But where is this Minestus?" thought Astra. "All I see is that funny piece of furniture" Fred's voice echoed throughout the room, "Minestus! Message from the Pearly Gates." Astra watched, to her horror, as the piece of furniture got up, turned around, and revealed itself to be a dragon! "Yes?" said the dragon. "Minestus, we have another reincarnation processee that wants..." "Don't say a thing. I'll sort it out." "But Minestus, I haven't told you..." "I'll figure it out! Be gone!" Fred's voice was, aparently, gone, for no more responses came. Minestus turned back to what he was doing in the corner, muttering something about how he never should have struck a deal with the people of the Pearly Gates. Astra stood there for hours, but dared not to move. The dragon was huge! Or so it appeared to Astra at her current size. Its scales were harder than the finest, tempered armor and it had eyes that glowed brighter than the hottest ember in the hottest forge. Its wings that could level a barn with one mighty beat and a tail mightier than the mightiest oak tree. Finally, the dragon finished and took notice of her. "Sorry about that," he said.
