Bruno the Bear

"I see you've found the dog-teen," said the bear.

Astra's jaw dropped. Velus growled. Fred, however, managed to say, "Oh my God! You can talk!"

"Yes," continued the bear in a rather bored voice, "there's a myriad of us humans-turned-animals throughout this cave. Some of us can talk, some of us can't. I think it depends on the mood the dragon was in when he cast the spell. Watch the dog-teen, he's probably hating me right now."

Astra managed to find her voice. "A myriad? You mean there's ten-thousand of you?"

"No, I mean there's lots and lots of us, probably about twenty in all; but what should I know? I always saw double."

"Wait, you wore glasses as a human?"

"No, I just drank a lot. I was Bruno, the village drunk, until the dragon turned me into this."

1. "Say, what would you be willing to do to get a drink once more?"
2. "Say, do you know how the curse can be lifted from Velus?"
3. "What's with the bored voice?"
4. Velus attacked the bear!
