The freeing spell

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 88390

Merlyn slaps his leggins, causing a piece of parchment and a quil to appear out of thin air. He starts writing something very carefully.

"Merlyn, sir? What are you doing?"

"I'm writing the spell down."

"But, sir?"

"What's the problem? Can't read?"

"Yes, sir but..."

"Then there shouldn't be a problem. I'm charming the parchment so the first to read it summons the spell. I can't stay around when it happens, because it might confuse my own magic with the djinn's."

"But, sir, where will you go?"

"I was reading a book in bed when you snatched me away, I thinik I'll go back to that."

"What? How long have I been in this cave? Is it night already?"

"Not here, I don't expect. I live some three time-zones away."

"Uh, time zones? What's that?"

"Oh never mind. Just step aside while I disappear out of here."

Fred took a step towards the wall and looked at the paper: Et Zolar ad beccus Gestalt. "This looks like the name of a side dish." Suddenly he remembered, "Hey, Merlyn, sir! What about Velus? Hey!" But Merlyn was already long gone.

  1. Use the third wish to turn Velus back into a human
  2. Go find (on foot) another mage that can turn Velus back into a human and kill the dragon (freeing Astra can wait)
  3. Read the spell, which works correctly
  4. Read the spell, which doesn't work as expected
