Waiting impatiently for the bomb to go off, Sir Josh leans back in his
chair, accidentally pushing it into a Victorian-styled ivory-handled brass
lever that had been sitting quietly at the back of his study for some
ninety years ever since it was installed by his great-grandfather, the mad
scientist who was so crazy that nobody ever used his name, they just called
him The Mad Scientist. Which caused no end of confusion upon the opening of
his will, as everything was in different names. Even the will itself had turned out to be someone else's. But enough of that. The lever had been sitting untouched since the death of its installer, seeing as nobody alive knew what it was for and it was, after all, installed by a mad scientist. Not until Josh accidentally pushed into it and caused it to flip over with a dry BEKLUTNK. And it turned out to be the off switch for the world. Not that anyone in the world noticed, mind you. Nothing ever happened after that, and I guess we will have to resort to flashbacks to kill time (as it were) until the janitor comes around in the morning and reboots the system. So, who did The Mad Scientist install that switch for anyway?
