Fred was so impressed that he stopped crying. He had no idea where Ms
Astra had obtained the sword, but she seemed as talented with it as her
counterpart in the fantasy world inside his head.
Dispatching the last of the demons in the cafeteria (though there were
probably plenty more outside), she turned and gave Fred a reassuring
smile. Her hair had mostly escaped from the bun, and her previously
pristine uniform was now torn and bloodstained. Fortunately all the blood
seemed to be from the demons rather than being her own.

"Sorry," she said. "The demons are my fault. They've come after me because they know that I'm the Slayer."

"You're just like the Princess Astra in my fantasy world," Fred said. "I named her after you." He was having one of his more lucid days. He didn't always realise what was fantasy and what was reality.

"That was brilliant, Princess Astra," Fred said. The horror of the demon attack had caused him to lose his tenuous grip on reality, at least for the time being.

"I knew those fencing lessons I took in high school would come in useful one day," Ms Astra said.
