Fred hadn't expected to see any ogres wearing clothes. Perhaps they
weren't as primitive as he had assumed. He hoped that Astra would be as
good as her word that she would be back shortly. as he felt that they had
already wasted too nuch time. The longer they took in tracking down the
Last Shoggoth, the harder he would be to deal with.
Whilst waiting for Astra, he decided that he might as well search the room. Perhaps he would find something of use. The room contained a table, a couple of chairs and a chest of drawers, as well as primitive kitchen facilities. It was when he attempted to open the top drawer of the chest of drawers that he got into trouble. Apparently someone had wanted to keep the contents private, as when he pulled on the top drawer not only did it fail to open, but there was a click and he found that a manacle had emerged from the base of the chest and locked itself around his ankle. He was unable to break free, and the chest was much too heavy for him to move. All he could do was to wait with increasing impatience for Astra to return, hoping that her strength could release him. It seemed like forever, but was actually well under an hour, when she returned, looking very pleased with herself.
