Stacy's Memory Loss Explained (at last!)

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 8750

Back at the TARDIS, the Doctor placed some elecrodes on Stacy's scalp and hooked her up to some kind of strange machine, while Melissa and the Bettys watched curiously. He twiddled some knobs, made some adjustments, and peered at a readout screen, frowning thoughtfully.

"Well?" asked Stacy, unable to take it any longer.

"Well," said the Doctor, "I think it's fairly obvious what's happened. The Master must have been running his experiments in this area for some time. The kinds of energies he was dealing with can certainly have an adverse effect on the human brain. From what you've told me, you obviously found out about his plan somehow, and were spending a great deal of time here at the VLA. If you were in the wrong place at the wrong time when the Master activated one of his experiments... Well, the radiation effects could easily account for your subsequent memory loss."

"OK," said Stacy. "Makes sense to me. Is there any way to fix it?"

  1. The Doctor looked sad. "I'm afraid not. I'm sorry."
  2. The Doctor smiled. "Oh, I don't imagine it should be too difficult."
  3. The Doctor looked thoughtful. "Possibly, but not with 20th century Earth technology, and not with the resources I have here."
