"I agree," Astra gasped. "I mean, laughter taking physical form? It's sound, it is physical already!"

"I'm with you on that one," said One Shoggoth calmly. "How about.... solid form?"

"Well, excuuuuse me, Princess!" said the newly solidified laughter. "We don't all have fancy degrees, you know!"

Fred groaned. "Great, now it's achieved sapience as well!" His own voice just laughed scornfully at him. He should have seen that one coming...

"Only one thing to do," Astra suggested. "We have to split up and go our separate ways. If we are lucky, the weirdness will distribute evenly between us and become tolerable."

"And if we are unlucky?"

"Then it will follow one of us, and that will be the unlucky one!"

So they did.
