Sir Josh goes to hell

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 869

Sir Josh ends up in hell.
He is in a large room, about fifty feet square. The walls are beige. There is a mattress on the floor and a red cushioned chair in one corner. A small red ball is in another corner.
There is no exit.
"How is this supposed to be hell?" Sir Josh cried.
"Easy!" screamed a voice that sounded like an axe scraping on armor. "Boredom, my good Sir! Boredom with a capital nothing to do!"
Sir Josh realized the voice was right.
Josh laid down and took a nap.
He awoke and days passed.
He found he didn't starve, he didn't need to drink and he didn't need to go to the bathroom.
But he was bored. Bored!
Months pass.
He spent the time trying to make trick throws that would bounce the ball back into his hands.
A year passes. Sir Josh has named the chair 'Steven' and has had many scintillating conversations with it.

  1. Two years. Sir Josh could throw the ball and bounce it off four surfaces and catch it. With his eyes closed.
  2. Five years pass. Sir Josh is insane.
  3. One billion years has passed. Sir Josh has named every bump in the wall. The chair is worshipped as a god. The ball has been forgotten for a thousand years.
  4. Two more minutes pass. God rescues Josh.
  5. God retroactively rescues Josh so he only spent two hours in the room.
  6. Sir Fred shows up. (Sir?)
