This was bad, Astra realised, very bad. She started backing towards the exit as unobtrusively as she could. Brenda - or Narholytep - was growing a pair of goat's horns and the parts of her legs that were visible were now covered in white, shaggy hair.

"Don't go," Narholytep said. Her voice had changed, somehow acquiring sweet yet horrifying overtones that made a shiver travel up Astra's spine.

Astra turned and bolted for the door.

And made it out.
But the door had vanished.
But the store had somehow grown huge, as well as much darker. The door was now fully a hundred yards away.
But before she could cover two paces a tendril shot out from Narholytep and entwined round her ankle. She crashed to the floor.
