good one anyway, since I'm the only one with a car at the moment. Sure, Mr
Campbell
could hire one, but that would mean more delay. So I think I had better
drive
you down to Socorro and take you to see Jimmy, as I first suggested. But
to avoid
alarming him, Debbie, Mr Campbell and I could all wait in the car a little
way up the road while you go in to talk to him."
So that was what they did. Stacy had been worried that Jimmy might have stayed in Albuquerque, now Susan had come round, but then she remembered that he would have to come back home every day to feed the rats. Susan would never let him neglect them. Fortunately he was in when Stacy knocked on the front door. "Hi, Stacy," he said. "Hi, Jimmy." She decided to put off making the awkward request for a rat to dissect, and started by asking him: "Do you have the keys to Susan's lab by any chance?" He replied:
