Fred's loyalties return

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 8607

Fred is too much of a noble to betray his kingdom for long. He carefully pockets a butter knife. When the moment is right, he stabs it through the brain of the creature beside him. The monster gurgles and drops. The shocked room takes a moment to recover. This is all Fred needs. The dead thing's sword is in his right hand and a silver sterling plate cover is in his left.
With a joyous cry of 'Long live the King!' Fred attacks!
Limbs fly. Heads roll. Monster after monster falls under the flashing blade of Lord Fred.
Someone is laughing in joy and it takes Fred a full minute to figure out it is he.
The battle does not go perfectly. Two deep gashes make Fred's left leg unsteady. A long tear on his left arm causes his shield to drop. His left ear is badly sliced.

  1. But thankfully the last monster is now dead.
  2. Fred must retreat.
  3. Fred is taken down. His limbs are cut off and cauterized as punishment.
  4. Fred is in trouble. Fortunately, reinforcements arrive.
