Dan and the strangers

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 85758

With only about eight hundred people in town, Dan's 'visit' was quickly noted and spread as gossip. Somehow, for some damned reason, the locals thought he was a scout for a vague American retailer looking to maybe invest in the place but otherwise take a nice vacation.
And, as Mr. Friendly Cop Xunesson not so subtly hinted, American tourists are welcome if they place nice, unlike those trio of weirdos spotted up in the mountains kicking that pig.
Dan knew instantly that the trio was part of the game.
Xunesson let Dan off at a sight seeing spot by the port, having 'giving him a ride' which Dan knew was a way to size up the new comer and give him the business.
What now?

  1. Explore the town.
  2. Buy a weapon.
  3. A friendly dog comes up with a message attatched to his collar.
  4. An older woman approaches.
  5. There's a huge ship coming into port. And it doesn't look like it's stopping!
  6. Dan sees a ball of fire traveling down 'Jacob's Ladder', a path up one of the mountains.
  7. Dan is surprised when Jonathan the tortise, a noted resident, joins him by the port...
  8. Thunder rumbles.
