Susan was rather surprised by how long and winding the road to the
dragon's caves was proving to be. When she had made the same journey in
the reverse direction it hadn't seemed very far. Charlie explained that
once she had taken the berries, they had distorted her sense of time and
distance, and that the journey to his village had actually been much
further than it had seemed.
Susan, more trusting than she had been as Fred, accepted this.
