Astra Wants Less Talk, More Action

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 82890

Adele continued: "It would take an exceptionally powerful magic user to undo those spells. Perhaps the Wizard of... But I was forgetting. Eight hundred years have passed, and he must be long dead. Minestus may well have sufficient power, but he is unlikely to be co-operative. Of course, I could probably do it if I had the ring to boost my power, just as the ring boosted the power of my father and Elaine when they originally cast the spells. But it may be best if the ring does not come my way, as I'd be very tempted to put it on and I doubt that I would have much more success in resisting it than Elaine did."

"At least neither Belboz nor Elaine actually killed anyone," Fred said. "So the ring may not have wholly overpowered their good side."

"Thank you, Fred. That is some comfort. My father was a good man once."

Astra had been discouraged by what Adele had said, and now she was becoming impatient with the conversation, which seemed from her viewpoint to be straying from the point. "We need to quickly decide what we are going to do," she said. "We may not have much time before Minestus - or perhaps Elaine once again - comes looking for us."

  1. "It may be that my father kept other magical artifacts here, less dangerous than the ring, and they could be of use to us. I think that we should take the time for a brief search."
  2. The entire mountain shook violently. Earthquake? Cave-in? Or the beginnings of magical combat between Elaine and Minestus? "I think that makes the decision for us," Fred said. "Let's get out of here!"
