The Never Ending Quest - Episode 82120

At first sight, the stone ramp was the least attractive of Astra's four options for further progress, but for that very reason she thought that it was the least likely to be a trap. However she hadn't gone very far before she regretted her choice. The moss and mud that coated the ramp made it slippery, and her feet slid from under her. She was unable to arrest her progress, and thirty seconds later found herself lying on her back at the bottom of the ramp. Her navy blue, knee-length, pleated skirt, her white blouse and her white socks were all filthy and torn, and she had lost her shoes altogether.

The light wasn't very good at the bottom of the ramp, and her brief search for the shoes met with no success. Feeling that she was at the mercy of a malevolent fate, she turned her back on the ramp and looked to see which way she should go now. Climbing the ramp wasn't an option; it was too steep and slippery.

  1. Unfortunately she was in a small chamber with no obvious exit.
  2. A paasage, every bit as filthy and dank as the ramp, was the only exit.
  3. She was startled by a voice saying "Hello!" Straining her eyes in the gloom, she made out the voice's owner.
