How would she hide something on a machine that wasn't password protected, she asked herself. One simple method that occured to her was to put it in a zip file and make a password necessary to unzip it. Of course, if she had done that then she would have no way of knowing what password she had used. She would probably need a cryptographer to get at the contents of the file. Perhaps the man in the coffee shop would have a contact who could help? She did a search on *.zip and found:

  1. Nothing. Oh well, it had been a pretty forlorn hope.
  2. A file called story.zip. That seemed promising, especially as it WAS password protected. She found an empty floppy in her desk drawer, and copied the file onto it.
  3. Whilst the search was in progress, someone came into her office.
