Astra's Ill-received Advice

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 81007

Fred got the full story from Astra when she woke up. "Can you imagine?" she said after describing the circumstances of her arrest. "The primitive, superstitious locals actually accused me of witchcraft for teaching what has been shown back home in Aqualaria to greatly reduce ill health."

Fred - ignorant of hygiene - thought that Astra had a bee in her bonnet on this subject, and that what she had been teaching was nonsense, but he couldn't see that it amounted to witchcraft. Besides, she was a friend of his. So he said: "That's ridiculous. So when's your trial?"

"Oh, I don't get a trial. It's enough that the lord of this land considers me guilty. He has decreed that:

  1. "I must spend a week in this cell."
  2. "I must walk the streets of this town from sunrise to sunset tomorrow, with a placard round my neck reading 'Guilty of witchcraft'".
  3. "My head is to be shaved and I am then to be tarred and feathered."
  4. "I'm to be burned at the stake."
