A Village In Dragon Territory

The Never Ending Quest - Episode 80764

A thin, twisty path had led the odd threesome to a hillside village high in the mountains controlled by the dragon.
They all have flat, sloping, reinforced roofs, the better to survive an avalanche.
About a thousand feet below the village is thick clouds and fog, obscuring the land two thousand feet below that. The sun hides behind some clouds, casting a depressing over-cast. The three beings lurk behind two giant, mossy boulders and discuss things.
As the most human, Sir Toby agrees to go looking about. He leaves his weapons behind.
Sir Toby returns soon and tells his two companions an interesting fact.

  1. The village is neutral territory; the dragon does not control it.
  2. The high-end commanders of the dragon's army live here.
  3. All the villagers are dead.
  4. It is a trading post relying on many blacksmiths. They have no idea the dragon exists...weird.
  5. High population, no one over age 20.
  6. It is a colony of writers who secure their safety from the dragon by crafting entertaining stories.
  7. He saw an adorable kitty on a high ledge.
