Josh is just far enough in the future for most of New York to still
be standing. In fact, several chunks of the Flatiron building thump to the
ground. Josh wanders the streets of New York, the fortunate occurence of a near- full moon lighting the way. Dusty skeletons litter the streets. Yellow, mold-infested newspaper machines indicate that some sort of threat emerging from a meteor hitting Alabama had caused the end of the world. Josh wanted to know more but the rust and the muck and the mold of the newspaper machine made him not want to touch it. Proud of this burst of logic, he decides to go looting. A nearby all-purpose corner drug-store is lit up with the moonlight reflecting off a nearby abandoned cars. Josh steps through the near-empty frame of the front window and starts fiddling with stuff. The front aisle and most of the register section are the only clear spots in the store, pretty much everything else had been smashed down, looted and smashed or filled with blown-in garbage or debris from the holes in the ceiling.
