Astra had not heard the tune before, but it was very catchy and she soon
found that her foot was tapping to the beat. From Sabok's mention
of "stanzas" she assumed that there must be some words which went with
the tune, but Sabok contented himself with playing a five-stringed
instrument similar to a guitar, which he had briefly gone inside to fetch.
When Sabok nodded to her, to indicate that the tune was about to repeat itself for the second stanza, she began to dance. She had attended a fair number of balls at the Aqualarian court in the old days, but the tunes had almost all been much slower and more "dignified" than this folk air. Also, of course, she had always had a partner. So she began hesitantly, but soon began to be seized by the strong rhythm. Luckily her "merchant's" robes were loose enough not to impede her too much, though her shoes were not ideal. She gestured freely with her arms as she twirled, trying to dance with her whole body and not just her legs. Wanting to impress, she finished with an athletic kick that took her foot almost to the level of her head. Sabok ceased playing and laid down his instrument.
