The Never Ending Quest - Episode 79066

The Joker stops for a second and stares at you with his head cocked and his mouth open slightly. He listens to you babble about poledancing furries and beer for several seconds.

Finally, he speaks, his voice hushed in sheer awe.

"Dude..." breathes the homicidal Clown Prince of Crime. "You're absofuckinglutely bugshit nuts. You make ME look sane. And that's a neat trick."

He turns and hurries up the tunnel. "That's a big plus in my book," he calls behind him. "Have your people call my people, we'll do lunch. You ever get out of here, look me up. No, forget that, I'll be back in a few weeks anyway. I'm always looking for a few good bats. Pun certainly intended."

There's a distant explosion that shakes the asylum to its foundations, followed by screams and the sound of gunfire. Joker's face breaks into a huge, daffy grin as he grabs for the edge of the hole to steady himself. "Well, my ride's here. You'd think the prison system would be expecting this after all this time, but noooooooooo. Not their fault, really. I'd break out no matter where they put me. My card." He tosses a card behind him as he hurries off. "We'll hook up!" he cheerfully calls behind him.

Slowly the conversation sinks through the haze of drugs and hallucinations. Your eyes gradually focus on the playing card the Joker left behind him. With one foot, you manage to snag it with a heel, and you pull it towards you. You shift around and finally manage to hide it under your left buttock.

When the guards, police and attendants come following Joker's trail of devastation, they miss the playing card completely

  1. The card conceals a nifty razor blade, lockpick and a teeny ultra-thin cellphone. The Joker guides you through the steps of your own escape shortly thereafter. .
  2. A few weeks later, just as he said, they manage to stick him back in. You spend a lot of time playing Candyland and talking.
  3. Your metagenes kick in a few days later.
  4. You strike up a conversation with a ridiculous talking cartoon cricket. It constantly urges you to more and more hideous forms of vice.
